Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi ji -

Foremost, we know that 2nd October is the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi the father of the nation. Who played an important role in India’s struggle for independence from the Britishers. Bapu is known for his philosophy of non-violence and his advocacy for equality, justice, and rights. Gandhi’s principles inspire peace and social justice in the world.


International Day of Non-Violence:


To honor the philosophy & ideology of Mahatma Gandhi and his utmost contributions to global non-violent movements, the United Nations General Assembly declared 2nd October as the International Day of Non-Violence. On 2nd October 2007, the UN General Assembly started to observe this day globally as the International Day of Non-Violence.

  1. Birth anniversary of Lal  Bahadur Shastri

Lal Bahadur Shastri was born on 2nd October 1904. He was the second Prime minister of India (1964-66). He was known for his simplicity, integrity, and dedication to mankind.


During his tenure as Prime Minister, several important events were accomplished such as the Indo-Pak war of 1965. He also coined the famous slogan “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan”.
